EMRPS Duchess and friends Charter 14th July 2012
What a fantastic way to spend my 44th Birthday. An EMRPS photo charter at Swanick Junction featuring 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' in BR lined Green and also cameo roles by BR Standard Class 5 73129 and English Electric type 4 D212 Aureol, although if truth be told the whistler was just a as big a draw for me. IIRC correctly this was a boys day out and I was a passenger in Nigel Cockburns Land Rover which is strange cos it didn't rain once, although the sun was noticeable by its absence all day until around 45mins before sunset which resulted in gargantuan efforts to re arrange the cameos to take advantage!
Expertly lit as always by Jason Cross and his crew, the even went on well into the early hours though Nigel and myself left around midnight well happy. Not sure if they are still there but Jason had the shots we missed hosted on his website http://www.15c.co.uk

D212 - Swanwick Junction - 14/7/2012
Originally set up as an 'extra' in a shot with 73129 I saw an opportunity for the whistler to be a star in her own cameo. Whilst working members of the MRC/EMRPS concentrated on positioning/lighting the kettle 73129 on the rake of stock and the rest of the members waited patiently I snuck off for this and got probably my favourite image of the night!
