  • 46115 Scots Guardsman passing Stourton with the 1Z22 10:15 York to Scarborough outbound Scarborough Spa Express on August 3rd 1961! :-) I have done some very basic retro-ification in photopshop lol. Cranes, power lines, pylons, concrete sylo colour light signal all removed and the image desaturated. I could have gone a lot further and removed the AWS box from the fourfoot and and new style OHL warning stickers but I get bored easily!
  • 6201 Princess Elizabeth is seen bathed in glorious early evening Golden sunshine passing Little Fenton with a 1Z69 16:55 Scarborough to Crewe return "Scarborough Flyer" on August 5th 2011
  • Working hard and sounding awesome 37706 growls past Arla Dairies at Stourton, South East Leeds with a 1Z22 10:15 York to Scarborough, the first circuit of the days SSE on August 9th 2011.. The tractor was deputising for a failed Kettle 44932 which had failed on the NRM during prep in the morning. The Kettle was patched together and added inside the train at York where the EE type three then piloted the train to the coast. The kettle completed the rest of the circuit with 706 on the rear as insurance.

I awoke to clear blue skies but decided to look at a shot I have been thinking of for a while now, only to find it cloudy when i got there Doh!! Stanier's graceful "Princess Elizabeth" 6201 is seen exiting the Standedge Tunnle at Tunnel End, Marsden bang on time with a 1Z68 07:11 Crewe to Scarborough "Scarborough Flyer" on August 19th 2011. In the words of a fellow local tog "You should have stayed at home mate!" - very true Derek, not only did the sun not want to play but trees have now also obscured the Aquaduct from view too....:-(<br />
<br />
PS before I get cries of "Tresspass" messages this is a 100% legal shot from behind the fence!
