  • 66304 passing the site of Thornhill Junction, Dewsbury with a diverted 4M16 Grangemouth to Daventry Intermodal on April 2nd 2011

  • 47802+47501 cautiously negotiate Bradley Junction nr Deighton Huddersfield with a 1Z79 13:15 Liverpool Lime Street -Livepool Lime Street (via Blackburn, Copy Pit and Huddersfield) Northern Belle Mothers Day Luncheon Train on April 3rd 2011. 47790 was out of view on the rear.This weekends activities were the first trains to be operated by DRS since gaining the contract to provide the traction for the Northern Belle trains, Quite why three "Duffs" were supplied is unclear.

  • When I first saw the post I thought it was a late April Fool joke - A Deltic - hired by a TOC - to work freight for a month!!?? But its true and heres the proof. Aplogies for the dodgy cinematography (still learning video/lack of autofocus on non prime lenses on the DSLR - a tough learning curve, especially as I had my four year old with me and needed eyes in the back of my head!!)<br /> <br /> 55022 is seen passing through Dewsbury around 20 mins early with an 0Z55 1300 Castleton to Tyne Dock light engine move in preparation for the new flow on April 10th 2010.

  • 47786 leads a 1Z66 Blackpool North to Dundee past Horbury Junction on April 15th 2010. 47804 was the engine dead on the rear.
  • 47802 at the head of a 1Z41 07:34 Shrewsbury to Harrogate Northern Belle on April 15th 2010 passing through Horbury Cutting, 47501 was dead on the rear
  • 47501 at the rear of a 1Z41 07:34 Shrewsbury to Harrogate Northern Bell passing through Horbury Cutting. The lead loco was 47802
  • Castle Class GWR "Kettle" 5043 thunders past Diggle with a 1Z37 Tysley to Blackburn "The Red Rose" charter on April 16th 2010. Despite me not being a "kettle man" and the GWR being my least liked of them all, I must admit I was very impressed with this locos performance and it positively flew past Diggle sounding awesome!

  • 5043 was equally impressive when viwed on the other side of the pennines. Here the 1Z37 Tysley to Blackburn is seen working hard at Hall Royd Junction with the start of the climb upto Copy Pit.
